Encinitas Wine Festival

The twelve beneficiaries listed below are broadly broken into two groups; those who work with our children and those who work in our community. When you purchase a ticket to this event we ask you to select one of these worthy organizations. All are 501c-e charities. Each organization has furnished us with information about their work and a web site link if they have one. The organization you select will receive $50 for each ticket purchased. Thank you for your generosity.

American Association of University Women

The Homeless Babies project of the Del Mar - Leucadia branch of the American Association of University Women was begun in 1991. It helps lessen the financial burden of raising children by providing essential supplies to the North County social service agencies which aid women and children in need and at risk. The Project primarily provides baby necessities. e.g. baby food, formula and diapers. It assists women in taking care of their children while themselves becoming more self-sufficient and productive members of society.

Class A.C.T.

Class - A.C.T.

Class A.C.T. is a non-profit organization offering standard-based performing arts, visual arts and technology classes during and after school hours for children, schools, and families in our community. The impact created by Class A.C.T. programming carries beyond the family and into the neighborhood, bringing arts and transferable skills for children that build confidence and enhance academic excellence.

MAEGA

Mexican American Education and Guidance Foundation

MAEGA was formed over 35 years ago to provide college scholarships to deserving Mexican-American/Latino students graduating from high schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District.  Through the generosity of the community, MAEGA has granted scholarships to over 600 students since its founding.  Scholarships are renewable as funds allow.

North Coast Singers

North Coast Singers

The San Diego North Coast Singers was founded in 1993 in Encinitas, California. They are known throughout San Diego County for their joyous, spirited sound. Sponsored by The San Dieguito Performing Arts Association, the program has four ensembles serving 130 children, in grades two through twelve. The choir strives to offer a first rate musical education while instilling a sense of worth in the local community and a global understanding as well, through the study of songs in many languages from many lands.

The San Dieguito Sports Medicine Foundation supports the high school athletic training programs in the San Dieguito School District. The Athletic Trainers help provide a safe environment for sports participation on a daily basis by assessing, treating, and preventing injuries of student athletes.

The Encinitas Historical Society

The Encinitas Historical Society is committed to preserving and gathering written, pictorial, and oral history of the City of Encinitas. We support the preservation of historic buildings and sites. We believe in sharing with other organizations in order to extend local historic knowledge and provide supportive ideas, material and historic media. Research is vital in broadening our appreciation, and knowledge of our local culture. Therefore, we do oral histories and seek the family and business memorabilia such as letters, pictures, biographies, autobiographies, articles and newspapers. Historic 1883 Schoolhouse visitation encourages learning for children and community.

Rancho Costal Humane Society

Rancho Coastal Humane Society

Rancho Coastal Humane Society, a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization, has been serving greater San Diego County since 1961. The mission of Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) is to care for homeless companion animals and to educate the public about pet overpopulation and responsible care. Each year, more than 1,300 animals (cats, dogs and rabbits) are adopted from RCHS.

Funds raised from the Encinitas Wine Festival will help defray the costs of the care of the shelter animals.

The Sudanese Refugee Network

The Sudanese Refugee Network

The Sudanese Refugee Network provides counseling, emergency financial assistance and household goods to needy members of the 3,500 Sudanese refugees , including over 90 "Lost Boys" who live in the low-rent areas of San Diego. The refugees have fled persecution and face many difficulties in adapting to this new and very different environment.

Quail Botanical Gardens

Quail Botanical Gardens is a 30-acre oasis in the hills of Encinitas featuring desert, Mediterranean, and subtropical/tropical collections, exhibits, display, and demonstration gardens plus “Seeds of Wonder” children’s garden.
